§ 60. Mr. Palmerasked the Minister of Transport if he will now authorise the proposed road improvement scheme at Loftus Bank and Bridge, Cleveland, in view of the two February accidents, the latest of a series of accidents over the years at this dangerous point.
Mr. BraithwaiteI very much regret the accidents which have occurred at this site, but in present financial conditions my right hon. Friend is unable to approve the full scheme which the county council have submitted. They are, however, considering what can be done by means of lesser works to diminish the risk of accidents.
