HC Deb 16 March 1953 vol 512 c169W
Mr. C. Hughes

asked the Minister of Civil Aviation what facilities now exist for civil aircraft at Mona Aerodrome, Anglesey; and what is the present position of Valley Airfield as an alternative for scheduled services.

Mr. Profumo

By arrangement with the Air Ministry, up to six civil air charter operations a week may take place at Mona subject to prior permission of the Commanding Officer at Valley, provided that the aircraft can communicate with Mona air traffic control by radio telephony when the weather necessitates instrument flying rules. The Royal Air Force airfield, Valley, is available as an alternate for trans-Atlantic air services.
