§ Mr. Lewisasked the Minister of Education if she is aware that a number of schools do not have regular fire drills for their pupils; and whether, in the interests of public safety, she will take the necessary action to ensure that every school has a regular periodical fire drill for its pupils.
§ Miss HorsbrughFire precautions in schools are the responsibility of local education and other school authorities, and I do not require to be informed of their arrangements. I am, however, glad of this opportunity to call attention to the importance of arranging regular fire drills in all schools.
