HC Deb 12 March 1953 vol 512 c135W
42. Mr. S. O. Davies

asked the Minister of Education if she will cause an independent inquiry to be made into the administration of the Cranfield College of Aeronautics where the cost per student averaged over £2,200 in 1951–52, and where the number of persons on the college staff was more than three times the number of students in attendance.

Miss Horsbrugh

No. The expenditure of the college is kept under close review by the governors and by my Department, and I consider that no useful purpose would be served by an independent inquiry.
