HC Deb 10 March 1953 vol 512 c103W
103. Lord Malcolm Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will take steps to ensure that the wood owned by the Forestry Commission, now nearing maturity in the Highlands of Scotland, will be used for the benefit of the area and for Highland development.

Mr. J. Stuart

In disposing of produce the Commissioners always have regard to local needs, and the Government will continue to encourage wood-using industries to establish themselves in the Highlands.
