HC Deb 10 March 1953 vol 512 cc102-3W
Mr. Lewis

asked the Minister of Works whether, to assist the war-damaged towns and cities in repairing their war damage and fencing in their war-damaged sites, he will make available to them the timber, fencing and other materials which will normally be removed or destroyed, after removal from the Coronation line of route.

Mr. Eccles

Some of the fencing used in the Royal Parks will come from the Ministry's normal stocks. All other materials used in constructional work along the Coronation route remain the property of the contractors concerned. I do not propose to make stipulations about the subsequent use of any material except timber, the arrangements for which were explained in my reply of 3rd March to the hon. Member for Leyton (Mr. Sorensen).
