asked the Minister of Works the number of building operatives engaged in school building in Edinburgh during 1950, 1951 and 1952, as compared with the number so employed to the nearest convenient date in 1953.

Mr. Eccles

The number of building operatives engaged on school building, including extensions, major repair work, colleges and private schools in Edinburgh in the months of January, 1950, 1951, 1952 and 1953 was 118, 151, 302 and 332 respectively. Of the last figure 300 were employed on the erection of new schools.
