95. Air Commodore Harveyasked the Under-Secretary of State for Air how many training aircraft will be surplus to requirements as a result of the closing of the reserve flying schools; and what his policy is regarding these aircraft.
Mr. WardAs I have already informed the House, we are at present undertaking a radical review of the whole training organisation, of which the reserve commitments form only one part. This review may well result in considerable surpluses of training aircraft. We have already reduced certain orders, but until our plans are developed further it will not be possible to judge how many aircraft will become available for disposal by sale.
