Mr. Wheatleyasked the Secretary of State for Scotland on the basis that teachers' pensions in Scotland are paid monthly instead of quarterly, what estimate he has made of the extent to which the additional charge of £360,000, in the financial year of the change, would be offset by reductions in subsequent years; and over what period such reductions would eventually offset the original additional charge.
§ Mr. J. StuartThe additional charge of £360,000 in the financial year of the28W change would not be offset by reductions in subsequent years, as the equivalent of 12 monthly payments would be required in each of those years.
