§ 76. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Minister of Pensions if he is aware of the hardship on some pensioners who, because their legs are amputated below rather than above the knee, are thereby precluded from being given motor tricycles by his Department; and if he will seek powers to apply a wider discretion in such cases than that which is now vested in him.
Mr. AmoryUnder existing arrangements, such pensioners are considered for supply of motor tricycles if their walking ability is seriously restricted and they need a machine to obtain or retain employment. I am considering whether it is possible to extend this provision in any way.
