HC Deb 03 March 1953 vol 512 c31W
Mr. Holman

asked the Minister of Health what instructions he has issued to members of hospital management committees with reference to contracts for these bodies in which such members may have a financial interest; and what standard of conduct he expects members of these statutory bodies to exercise.

Mr. Iain Macleod

No instructions have been issued, but the National Health Service (Regional Hospital Board, &c.) Regulations, 1947 [S.R. and O. 1947 No. 1298], require hospital authorities to make standing orders for the regulation of their business and, in particular, for the disclosure by their members of any pecuniary interest in contracts or other matters. The question of issuing model standing orders for the guidance of hospital authorities is being considered.
