asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why the new and medium-classed French wines, flown over for the recent luncheon at the Institut Francais, Kensington, connected with publicity for French films, were exempted from Customs duties.

While not accepting my hon. Friend's classification of the wines in question, I can say that they were consigned to His Excellency the French Ambassador and were admitted free of duty in accordance with diplomatic usage.
