§ Mr. Joynson-HicksIn 1913, 8½ per cent. of colliery output was mechanically cut and less than 10 per cent. mechanically conveyed, compared with 74 per cent. and 73 per cent. respectively in 1946 and 81 per cent. and 87 per cent. respectively in 1951. Colliery output in the three years was 287 million tons, 181 million tons and 212 million tons respectively, and exports and bunkers 94 million tons. nine million tons and 11½ million tons respectively.
