asked the Minister of Food to consider granting permission to farmers in remote areas to make butter and cheese for sale by post at economic prices.

Dr. Hill:

Farmers can make soft cheese and sell it without restriction. But to extend this freedom to all cheese and to butter would divert supplies at present badly needed for the ration.
