HC Deb 25 June 1953 vol 516 c157W
Sir A. Bossom

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he will give careful consideration before approving the construction of new buildings for food marketing boards, in view of the possibility that these will not be indefinitely required and the fact that their construction takes labour and material needed for permanent requirements.

Sir T. Dugdale

I assume that my hon. Friend is referring to agricultural marketing boards. No proposal for the provision of new buildings for any such board has reached me. All proposals for new buildings whether on farms or for industries ancillary to agriculture and horticulture are carefully examined before sponsorship of a building licence is given or refused.
