§ 58. Mr. Sorensenasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what steps have been taken to institute fully democratic elections to district councils in the Protectorate of Sierra Leone.
§ Mr. LytteltonThe Government of Sierra Leone is alive to the need for more representative membership of these councils but considers it advisable to have a further period of trial of the present arrangements, which only came into effect at the beginning of 1951.
