§ Mr. Henderson StewartAt 31st March, 1952, the latest date for which figures are available, 18,729 pupils were attending 47 primary schools or primary departments of secondary schools, 9,551 were attending 19 secondary schools and 368 were attending two special schools. Three of the schools are grant-aided and three independent.
