Dr. Bennettasked the Minister of Works when the Heylands Court Hotel, Lee-on-Solent, was first requisitioned; for what purpose; when it was taken over by his Department; for what purpose and to what extent it has been used since then; what it is used for now; what he intends to do with it in the future; and when he will release it.
§ Sir D. EcclesHeylands Court Hotel, Lee-on-Solent, was leased in 1948 by my Department (not requisitioned) to provide accommodation for the local office of the Ministry of National Insurance. That office was subsequently closed and since then the premises have been used by the Ministry of National Insurance as a staff training centre, apart from two rooms occupied since June, 1953, by the local Food Office. A flat on the premises is occupied by the principal of the staff training centre.
