asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he is aware of the slow build up of domestic coal stocks in merchants hands in East Essex; and whether he will take action to speed deliveries to this area before the winter months set in.

I understand that the position in East Essex both as regards stocks of domestic coal and deliveries to merchants is somewhat better than the average for the region as a whole.

As regards the second part of the Question, I would refer my hon. Friend to my recent statements about domestic coal supplies generally.
