HC Deb 31 July 1953 vol 518 c238W
Lieut.-Colonel Bromley-Davenport

asked the Minister of Transport if he will give a list of the major plans for the new construction and major improvements in roads to cost £22 million which are to be commenced next year or as soon thereafter as resources permit.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I should prefer not to give a precise list at this stage. The actual selection of schemes will depend on conditions prevailing at the time and it will be necessary to consult the local highway authorities who are responsible for initiating schemes on classified roads.
