§ Sir W. MoncktonExcept as regards performances in hotels and restaurants, the employment of variety acts is regulated by a quota agreement between the parties concerned. Similar arrangements have not so far proved acceptable to the British Hotels and Restaurants Association, which has urged that a quota system is inappropriate to the employment of foreign cabaret artistes in hotels and restaurants.
