Sir W. Smithers

asked the Minister of Agriculture if his attention has been called to the case of two ex-Service men, brothers, named Crouch, who are threatened with dispossession by the East Sussex Agricultural Executive Committee after 34 years' tenure; in view of their production record, what recent events have induced this action; and if he will make a statement.

Sir T. Dugdale

As my hon. Friend is aware, the Crouch brothers have appealed to the Agricultural Land Tribunal against the proposal to dispossess them. The matter is thereforesub judice and I cannot make any statement on the merits of the case.
