asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the increasing difficulties which British exporters to Spain are encountering, due to that country's shortage of sterling, he will consider relaxing or removing the existing currency restrictions applicable to Spain.

Mr. Maudling

This matter has been considered but there are obvious difficulties, as the hon. Member will appreciate, in treating Spain more favourably than O.E.E.C. countries.
