§ Mr. Lennox-BoydNo. As I informed the hon. Member for South Ayrshire on 20th July, strengthening of bridges must take precedence in present circumstances over widening. In this case widening would necessitate substantial work to the abutments and delay the redecking of the bridge to a greater strength.
