HC Deb 27 July 1953 vol 518 cc109-10W
Mr. C. Hughes

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he will issue an interim statement on the progress of the Llan-verian Estate project in Anglesey, together with a financial statement.

Sir T. Dugdale

The agricultural experiment being carried out on the Llan-verian Estate by Welsh Agriculture and Industries Limited has been financed by loans from the Development Fund amounting in all to £143,700. The initial stages have been largely concerned with equipping, stocking and cultivations, including reclamation work, and I am advised by the Development Commission that no useful purpose would be served by the issue of an interim progress report and a financial statement at the present time. I understand, however, that Welsh Agriculture and Industries Limited would welcome visits by hon. Members specially interested in the scheme.
