HC Deb 22 July 1953 vol 518 c46W
77. Mr. Awbery

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what method is adopted in collecting from employers and workpeople the contributions toward the Provident Fund in Malaya; and how far the contribution is compulsory for both.

Mr. Lyttelton

The employer deducts the employee's share from his pay and then pays this and his own contribution either to the accountant of the Fund or, if in cash, to an officer of the Postal Department. Contributions are compulsory for both employers and employees covered by the ordinance.
