Mr. Michael Forsyth

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list for each planning authority in England the number of planning appeals he has received in each of the past five years.

The information requested is not readily available. Since 1979, however, my Department has been keeping statistics on the number of planning appeals by county. The figures are as follows:
