asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government (1) whether he is aware of the and the Eastern Electricity Board; and whether he will take the necessary steps to bring these negotiations to a speedy and effective conclusion.

My right hon. Friend is not aware that there have been protracted negotiations which have caused delay. There are, of course, areas where development by the Corporation will not begin for some time, but I understand that the proposed layout plans will shortly be available to the board.
