§ Mr. ButcherThe average gross value added per head in manufacturing industry — revised definition* — was about £8,800 for all establishments, £9,300 for establishments employing 500 persons or more and £9,400 for establishments employing 1,000 persons or more. Figures for net value added are not available.
* Divisions 2 to 4 of the standard industrial classification (Revised 1980).
