HC Deb 21 July 1953 vol 518 c32W
120. Mr. John MacLeod

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that the Forestry Commission have constructed 643 miles of new roads in Scotland; and what co-ordination there has been with his Department.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Yes. These roads are internal forestry roads required for the management of the Forestry Commission's plantations. They are not designed for public use and it is unnecessary for the Commission to consult me. The highway authorities are consulted so far as access to public roads is concerned.
