HC Deb 21 July 1953 vol 46 c204W
21. Rev. Martin Smyth

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he has had time to consider representations concerning the prevention of personation in elections; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Prior

I share the widespread concern that personation is practised on a significant scale at elections in Northern Ireland. I am urgently considering what further measures could be introduced to reduce the opportunities for electoral abuse.
