HC Deb 20 July 1953 vol 518 c6W
67. Sir J. Lucas

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that appointments for driving tests in Portsmouth are often cancelled by the authorities at less than even 24 hours' notice; and what action he will take to remedy this hardship.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

It is the usual practice when appointments have to be cancelled to give as much notice as possible. Unfortunately the recent cancellations at Portsmouth were due to sudden illness and early notice was not possible. I regret the inconvenience caused to those whose appointments had to be cancelled.
