89. Mr. Hale

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the amount of the United Kingdom contribution to the United Nations Expanded Programme of Technical Assistance to Under-developed Countries for the programme periods of 18 months, 1950–51, and 12 months, 1951–52 and 1952–53, respectively; and what percentage of the total fund for this period is represented by these contributions.

The United Kingdom's contribution for the 18 months July, 1950, to December, 1951, was £760,000, for the 12 months January to December, 1952—£450,000, and for the 12 months January to December, 1953—£500,000. These sums represent, respectively, 10.6 per cent., 6.7 per cent., and 6.6 per cent. of the total contribution for each period
