§ 1. Mr. James Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies the numbers of staff in the Meteorological Service of Kenya; and how many of these are doing field work.
§ Mr. LytteltonMeteorology is a service under the East Africa High Commission which covers Kenya, Uganda, Tanganyika, Zanzibar and the Seychelles. Its headquarters are at Nairobi. Of the permanent staff stationed in Kenya, 122 are at Nairobi, and 29 are at outstations. There is also a part-time staff of 12 in addition to 878 voluntary observers distributed throughout the territory.
