HC Deb 08 July 1953 vol 517 cc94-5W
73. Mr. Logan

asked the Minister of Education if, in considering the building licence for development of the scheme to provide a new primary school and extensions to existing buildings at St. Francis Xavier, Liverpool, at a cost of approximately £100,000, she will bear in mind that the sum is excessive in view of the alternative proposals of which she is aware which would cost only half the amount; and if, in view of the waste of building labour and materials, she will refuse to issue a building licence until further inquiries into costs have been made.

NOTES:
* The figures in c. (3) and (6) represent in terms of whole-time equivalents the amount of service given to each board by consultants who are whole-time in the National Health Service. Some whole-time consultants give part of their service to a second regional board, or a board of governors.
† The figures in c. (4) and (7) are the difference between c. (2) and (3) and c. (5) and (6) respectively, and they may not, therefore, correspond exactly with the numbers of individuals.
