§ 54. Captain Ryderasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what representations are being made by the British High Commissioner to Germany to ensure 55W that victims of Nazi concentration camps receive suitable compensation.
§ Mr. Selwyn LloydThe Federal German Parliament is at present considering a draft compensation law. This should fulfil the obligations assumed by the Federal Government. Nonetheless the draft law in its present form will not cover all victims of concentration camps, and this aspect of the matter is now under urgent consideration. Discussions have been proceeding in the Allied High Commission, but I should prefer not to make any further statement for the present.
