asked the First Lord of the Admiralty if he will give a list of naval aircraft, past and present, giving the interval between the time when staff requirements were first approved and the time when they first came into squadron service.

I regret that it would not be in the public interest to give the information in the form asked for by my hon. and gallant Friend in respect of modern types of aircraft.

For older types the following table gives the information for which he asks. This table covers the principal types of British aircraft which have been designed or adapted for operational use from carriers and have come into squadron service over the last 10 years.
