HC Deb 26 January 1953 vol 510 cc76-7W
83. Mr. T. Reid

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what stage has been reached in the negotiations about the Sudan; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Nutting

I would refer the hon. Member to my right hon. Friend's statement of 20th January, in reply to the hon. Member for Maldon (Mr. Driberg).

89. Mr. A. Henderson

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will publish as a White Paper the proposals of Her Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom and of the Egyptian Government, together with the terms of the Salem Agreement, in connection with the negotiations on the Sudan.

Mr. Eden

I do not think it would be appropriate to publish these documents whilst they are still under discussion with the Egyptian Government. A White Paper dealing with the official exchanges between the Egyptian Government and ourselves will, however, be laid before Parliament in due course.
