§ Mr. Anthony Greenwoodasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prosecutions have been instituted during the last convenient period of 12 months for allowing avoidable smoke or visible vapour to be emitted from a motor vehicle; and in how many cases convictions were obtained.
§ Sir D. Maxwell FyfeI regret that this information cannot be supplied without disproportionate labour, except in respect of the Metropolitan Police District, where in 1951 proceedings for this offence were instituted against nine persons, all of whom were convicted and fined.
