§ Mr. GammansThe total amount withdrawn in 1952 was £454 million, of which fraudulent withdrawals by the public amounted to 1½d. per £100. The latter is a little higher than the corresponding figures for the two preceding years, but it is less than half the average for the years 1945 to 1949.
