asked the Minister of Labour how many prosecutions under the Factories Acts have taken place in the last recorded year for breaches of the Acts and regulations where no accident has taken place, and where an accident has taken place, respectively.

In 1952 there were 1,250 charges for breaches of the provisions of the Factories Acts, of which 729 related to contraventions of safety requirements. Of these, 366 were in respect of death or injury by accident.
