asked the Minister of Pensions the date of introduction of the comforts allowance for very severely disabled pensioners; the number of allowances awarded since that date; and the number of deaths among this group since the allowance commenced.

Mr. Amory

The allowance was introduced in June, 1951, and up to the end of December, 1952, 9,636 awards had been made to pensioners, of whom 955 had died.
