§ 80. Mr. G. Thomasasked the Minister of Education what is the known number of spastic children in Cardiff; and what educational facilities are available for them.
§ Miss HorsbrughI cannot say, because I do not collect separate figures for spastic as distinct from other 235W physically handicapped children. Some spastic children can attend ordinary schools; the local education authority send the others, in so far as they are educable, to special schools in England or arrange for them to be taught at home. I hope that work will start this year on the new boarding special school for physically handicapped children which is to be provided in Glamorgan.
§ 86. Mr. Patonasked the Minister of Education how many spastic children of school age are known to the education authorities in Norfolk and Norwich, respectively.
§ Miss HorsbrughI do not collect separate figures of spastic as distinct from other physically handicapped children. I suggest that the hon. Member should ask the two authorities concerned.
