HC Deb 26 February 1953 vol 511 c225W
2. Mr. Bartley

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is satisfied with the work which is being done in County Durham to restore to food production agricultural land which has either been lost to agriculture or is producing only inferior crops due to coalmining subsidence damage.

Sir T. Dugdale

The treatment of land damaged by mining subsidence presents one of the most difficult problems of land reclamation. I am satisfied, however, that the National Coal Board is undertaking as much of this work as is reasonably economic.
