§ 63. Mr. Chetwyndasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many grants have been made for improvements by persons other than local authorities under Section 20 of the Housing Act, 1949; and what expenditure has been incurred, giving separate figures for each year.
§ Mr. MarplesGrants have been approved for 2,239 dwellings up to the end of 1952. Of these 526 were approved by the end of 1950, 851 in 1951 and 862 in 1952. I have not complete information on the expenditure involved since202W the claims I have received from local authorities to date cover only 623 dwellings. These total £106,640, the figures for each year being as follows:
