§ Sir W. Darlingasked the Minister of Fuel and Power to what extent he is encouraging the use of wood, unsuitable for other purposes, as fuel in Scotland.
§ Mr, Geoffrey LloydMy Department is always ready to give advice to those who wish to use wood waste to the best advantage. Itis a valuable fuel for local use, but is of comparatively low calorific 197W value and its bulk makes transport very expensive. I do not think that any special steps to encourage its use are necessary.
