Friend is anxious to ease restrictions on domestic coal supplies but for the present I can only say that domestic consumers will have an opportunity of changing their coal merchant for the new coal year commencing 1st May, by giving notice during March. An announcement on this will be made soon.
§ Mr. Elwyn Jonesasked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he will take immediate steps to secure for distribution among householders whose homes were recently flooded in the West Ham, South Division, good quality coal, which is at present in very short supply, to enable them to dry their homes.
