§ Mr. Donnerasked the Minister of Agriculture how many licences for clear felling timber in Hampshire, and separately in England, were issued in 1952; and in how many cases was a condition to replant attached to such licences.
§ Sir T. DugdaleIn 1952. 63 such licences were issued in Hampshire and 1,375 in England. Restocking conditions were attached to 46 and 1,107 of those licences respectively.
§ Mr. Donnerasked the Minister of Agriculture his estimate of timber felled 150W in Hampshire, and separately in England, in 1952 under the licence-free provisions.
§ Sir T. DugdaleI regret that it is not possible to give separate figures for England or for any particular county. In Great Britain, the Forestry Commission estimate that the total volume of timber felled by private woodland owners each year may be as much as 7 million cubic feet.
