asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether in view of the comparatively small expenditure involved, he will alter the conditions of payment of teachers' pensions in Scotland from a three-monthly to a monthly basis.

No. Apart from the addition of £3,000 to administrative costs, the change would entail a further charge of about £360,000 for Scotland in the financial year in which it took effect. Nor would it be justifiable to make the change in Scotland without making a corresponding change in England.
