HC Deb 13 February 1953 vol 511 c84W
Mr. Grimond

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland to make clear that Scottish educational qualifications will be accepted for candidates for all posts, offices and employments in the public service.

Mr. J. Stuart

Scottish educational qualifications have always been accepted under the regulations governing appointment to posts in the public service. The Civil Service Commissioners have agreed to state the Scottish qualifications required in all advertisements of competitions conducted by them. I have asked the Service Departments to do this also for all posts for which they are directly responsible.
